EaseKid Dict is a spelling helper app designed for children. We take privacy seriously, especially when it comes to young users.
EaseKid Dict does not collect names, email addresses, or any information that identifies you or your child. No accounts are required.
When you tap the microphone, your device's speech recognition converts your voice to text locally using Apple's on-device framework. The raw audio is never stored or transmitted.
For EaseKid Dict Pro subscribers, the transcribed text (e.g. "the animal that says woof") is sent to our server, which asks a large language model for the correct spelling and a simple meaning. We currently use DeepSeek, with Google Gemini as a fallback if it is unavailable. This text is used only to generate a response and is not linked to any user identity.
The resulting word, picture and meaning may be saved on our server so the next child who asks for the same word gets an instant answer. What is saved is the dictionary entry itself — never the recording, never who asked, and never anything that could identify a child.
EaseKid Dict's offline word list grows over time. About once a day the app checks our website for a newer vocabulary file and downloads it if there is one, so new words work offline without waiting for an App Store update.
This request contains no information about you or your child — no account, no device identifier, no subscription status, and nothing derived from anything that was said. Every copy of EaseKid Dict asks for the same file, so free and subscribed users are indistinguishable. If the check fails or never happens, the app keeps working exactly as before.
EaseKid Dict Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store. All billing and payment information is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details.
We do not use advertising networks or sell any data to third parties.
EaseKid Dict is designed for use by young children under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. No user accounts, profiles, or persistent identifiers are created.
We do not store personal data. Words looked up by EaseKid Dict Pro are saved on our server as ordinary dictionary entries — a word, a picture and a simple meaning — so that later requests are instant and so that reviewed words can be added to everyone's offline word list. These entries contain no identifying information and are not linked to whoever asked.
